Well, it's official...our little Dilyn is TWO!! Her birthday celebration started off Saturday morning when she woke up to her new kitchen! She was excited...you can see the look in her eye when she first saw it in the first picture. She plays with it every day pretending to make tea and cupcakes. It's so cute and a lot of fun. After her nap we went to the butterfly gardens at the zoo, then back to our place for her party. Thanks to everyone for coming and celebrating with us. I will post pictures of the party as well as some pictures my friend/Dilyn's babysitter took in another post. At least this post is a start...
So, now that Dilyn is 2, what is she up to? Well, she...
...likes to play pretend
...dances
...likes to wear dresses and feel pretty (she sits perfectly still to let me do her hair every day)
...very much cares about what shoes she's going to wear and typically prefers them on the wrong feet
...sings kid songs (right now her favorite tune is 'Wheels on the Bus')
...tries to sing along to the music I listen to and frequently asks for more music
...recently ate red meat for the first time and liked it (still prefers salmon or chicken)
...eats the baby food veggies, but rarely eats any other type of veggie
...has a mixture of yogurt and milk EVERY day
...pats you on the back when giving hugs
...loves to receive foot massages and frequently asks for them
...hangs on everything and likes to climb (quite the little gymnast)
...pumps her little arms when she is running (especially the right one)
...says 4 or 5 word sentences frequently
...likes to count, but typically starts at 7 and counts to 12 (can't figure this one out)
...sleeps from 7:30pm-8am almost every night
...LOVES to watch movies and is very good at the theater
...her favorite foods are (in addition to the yogurt) pancakes, strawberries, toast with pb, avocado, turkey dogs and ice cream. When you ask her if she wants some ice cream she will literally drop everything she's doing and beeline it to the ice cream.
...is starting to play with other kids
...is wearing a size 4 diaper now and is almost ready for potty training (I think)
...loves bracelets and necklaces
...has the best laugh I have ever heard
