A Doctor's Visit

Dilyn has had a big couple of days. Lately she has been having trouble sleeping and had been vomiting once in a while after a feeding. Mike suggested I call the doctor so I did. They told us to come in to make sure her weight was okay and to see the doc. Well, her weight was great...at exactly 2 weeks old she was 6lbs11.5oz so she had gained 10.5oz since her last visit a little over a week ago. Her pediatrician was impressed with her weight and the amount she has been eating. She was also diagnosed gastric reflux...basically heartburn for babies. She will grow out of it, but to help keep her food down and to ease her pain she is on Zantac. We are also putting a tiny bit of rice in her bottles and keeping her head elevated when she sleeps. Last night was her first night after the doctor and it went much smoother than the week before so we have our fingers crossed that she was diagnosed correctly and that nights will get better and better. We also went to my work today to show little miss Dilyn off. I bought her the cute dress she is wearing in the picture so she could wear something other than a onesie for her big debut. It is a preemie size. At the rate she's gaining weight she be out of it in no time, but she sure looked cute. Everyone thought she was beautiful...of course. She basically slept through the whole thing...of course. It was a lot of fun to see everyone at work. Mike's work is next on the list, but since he works in a pathology lab we're going to wait a couple more weeks...just in case.
